Zoom Refresher

As some of you may know, I was out with Covid recently.  I'm off of quarantine and eager to get back into the swing of things.  However, I've heard of others (both students and faculty) getting sick.  So, I figured this would be a good time to remind everyone of the options available through Zoom.

There are two ways to go about it based on who's out.

Zoom for an Instructor Out:
If you as the instructor are on quarantine but still want to have class, your best option is going to be using the Zoom tool within Canvas.  This Zoom in Canvas guide will walk you through the process.

Zoom for a Student Out:
If you've been notified that a student will miss class due to quarantine, you can use Zoom to either have them attend virtually or to record your lesson.  When using Zoom that way, I suggest you do not follow the Zoom in Canvas guide above.  That's because the Canvas Zoom tool may confuse your students since it'll create a Zoom notification for all of them.  Instead, follow the steps in this guide about creating recurring meetings.
IT informs me that all classrooms are now set up with a microphone and camera.  If you find that your classroom is missing one, please contact IT at help@brevard.edu.

General Zoom Refresher:
If it's just been a long time since you've used Zoom, feel free to watch a recording of my initial Zoom training we did way back when.
