Adding People to Canvas

There are a variety of reasons why you might want to add someone to your Canvas class.  Perhaps there's a TA or a colleague that you want to have access to your class.  The video below walks you through these steps:

  1. Visit the class
  2. Go to the 'People' section
  3. Click, +People
  4. Add in their email address
  5. Select to add them in as a TA (For faculty who are joining your course, add them as a Co-Teacher)

Troubleshooting:

  • If Canvas says it can't find them, you'll need to make one slight adjustment.  Instead of adding them by email, select to add them by "SIS ID".  Their SIS ID is the same as their employee or student ID.
  • If the +People button is missing or grayed out, the course is probably over.  Contact Jim Brooks at brooksjp@brevard.edu for adding people to courses that have already completed.
